PARROT FOR PODCASTs: Motion identity

OVERVIEW

Ever listen to a podcast and want to share the highlights? Maybe play back your favorite parts? Joshua Taylor, founder of the Parrot for Podcast app, came to Formerle with ideas for its UI animation and motion identity. Through some creative collaboration we personified the brand’s main offering in motion—the parrot.

PURPOSEFUL ANIMATION.

Having fleshed out the brand identity, we focused our efforts on purposeful animation. With loading animation standards, UI/UX animation best practices and parrot behavioral habits we were able to bridge several motions into one cohesive logo animation that had multi-function capabilities. Whether greeting you upon launching the app or guiding you from one saved clip to another, the parrot animation provides an element of consistency throughout the entire user experience.

BEYOND THE APP.

Additionally, this foundational motion identity allows Joshua and his team to expand the Parrot for Podcast branding beyond the app. As this fresh startup continues to grow there are plenty of opportunities to incorporate this parrot animation into other functions of the business, including but not limited to, internal/external marketing, public relations, website UI/UX, social media marketing and of course our favorite, YouTube marketing.
